Principals’ Association of Colleges of Education- India,under the guidance of Dr Shiv Pal Singh(President, PACE India, Principal Diwan Institute of Management Studies Meerut), Dr Megha Vishram Gulwani (Vice-President PACE India) and Prof. Devanandan K.V.(General Secretarty PACE India and Principal KPPM College of Teacher Education Mallapuram Kerala)and Convener Dr. Sarabjit Kaur (President,PACE, Punjab Chapter, Principal Guru Ramdas B.Ed college Jalalabad West) organised National Seminar on National Education Policy 2020 and Teacher Education: Challenges Ahead at New Delhi. The program started with Saraswati Vandana. Prof Devanandan KV welcomed the dignitaries, delegates and other guests. Dr Susheela Narang (Executive Member Punjab Chapter, Principal Kenway College of Education Abohar) acquainted the audience with the theme of the seminar.Dr Shivpal Singh (President PACE India) delivered the presidential address. Dr Tripta Parmar (Vice-president PACE Punjab Chapter, Principal Sant Darbara Singh College of Education for Women Lopon Distt Moga Punjab) welcomed and introduced the Chief Guest Professor Dinesh Prasad Saklani, (Director NCTE). Prof Saklani,in his address highlighted the need of changes in Teacher Education Program keeping in view the implementation of NEP2020.
Dr Manisha Pandey (Vice-President Madhya Pradesh Chapter, Principal Yuva College Guna MP) introduced and welcomed the keynote speaker Dr Banwari Lal Natia (NRC NCTE India) . Dr Dashrath Singh Chauhan(Treasure PACE National Body and Principal Maharishi Institute of Education Indoor) introduced and welcomed the keynote speaker Prof P.K.Mishra Director CPRHE-NIEPA. Dr Megha Vishram Gulwani (Vice-President) presented the felicitations. Dr Dashrath Singh Chauhan presented the vote of thanks for the Inaugural session. The technical sessions were conducted through blended mode, in which 54 papers were presented from Kerala, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Pune, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and New Delhi . The sessions were chaired by Dr Devanandan K.V., Dr Sarabjit Kaur , Dr Tripta Parmar, Dr Susheela Narang, Dr Dashrath Singh Chauhan and Dr Manisha Pandey .The seminar was attended by 325 participants through blended mode. Valedictory Session was presided over by Prof Jwala Prasad Pachauri, Vice-Chancellor, Himalayiya University, Uttrakhand. Prof Pachauri appreciated the efforts of PACE India and said that no nation can progress without the healthy contribution of Teacher Education to society. Dr Gurjit Kaur From Sant Darbara Singh College of Education for Women Lopon Distt Moga (Punjab) got the Best Presentation Award for her paper on NEP2020 and Teacher Education: Challenges Ahead. All the participants who presented the paper in physical mode were honored by the Association. Dr Tripta Parmar presented the report of the seminar and thanked the Chief Guest , delegates and other guests. Online valedictory function was also organized in which Dr.Gurjit Kaur,Dr.Jasmeet Kaur from Mata Sundri College,Delhi and Dr.Manoj Kumar from Maharashtra shared the feedback of the first Seminar of PACE which was conducted in blended mode. Seminar was a successful event as participants from all over India participated in this seminar and it was decided that now onwards all issues of teacher education Colleges will be taken up by PACE on priority basis and required help would be extended to all TEI’S.
